Abena is Program Manager of Compass: Australian Impact Entrepreneurship Program. It is a pre-accelerator for social startups and sister program to the Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP).
Abena has a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Economics and a postgraduate certificate in International Development from the University of British Columbia. Most recently, she has graduated from the University of Melbourne with an Executive Master of Arts.
Abena is a global citizen who has lived and worked in Singapore, Canada and Australia. Her eclectic career has spanned the not for profit, social enterprise and corporate sectors, but the one factor that has connected each one has been the pursuit of purpose.
Abena has worked for Earth Hour, international digital movement for the planet, Aidha, an award winning social enterprise, YGAP the incubator for social impact, and founded the Singaporean chapter of Jane’s Walk citizen-led walks for community based city building. In her spare time, Abena is Editor-at-Large (Australia) for The Aligned, a community for creatives who advocate for positive social change.
As Program Manager of Compass, Abena can finally share her enthusiasm for impactful ventures with others and answer the question on minds of many – “How do I make a difference?”
