Daniel is Co-Founder and CTO of Relectrify, a MAP startup making energy storage systems affordable through the reuse of recycled batteries.
After an education in Electromechanical Engineering (MEng) at the University of Southampton, UK, he had some brief sprints of engineering projects ranging from power supplies in a nuclear fusion test facility, to feasibility studies for an electric off-shore powerboat.
The startup life had its first calling when the opportunity arose to join FundApps, an early stage FinTech company in London making compliance simple for investment banks. The initial lack of interest in finance was countered by the eagerness to see and learn how to grow a company. After 3 fully bootstrapped years, they turned a 3 person startup into a 15 person company selling to some of the largest financial organisation across the world.
At the start of 2015, he co-founded Relectrify, combining his startup life and long time passion for engineering. Recycled cells have ~80% of their capacity remaining when they’re discarded, Relectrify has developed technology that releases this previously untapped potential; using it to significantly reduce the cost of home energy storage.
