Raymond is a Kiwi who moved to Australia in 1999 where he was appointed Head of the Graduate School of Management at La Trobe University. In 2004 he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law and Management at La Trobe. He retired in 2010. He holds a LLD (Doctor of Laws) from Victoria University of Wellington. On his retirement he was conferred the title Emeritus Professor. After enjoying retirement, he has taken a short term contract at the centre working on projects related to the ageing workforce and self-employment for retrenched workers.
His research interests have centred on workplace law, collective bargaining and trade union membership and he has published more than 70 refereed journal articles around those topics.
Outside academic life, Raymond has enjoyed success on the racetrack managing and owning horses here in Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand. He is currently a Panel Member of Racing Victoria’s Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board. His “footy team” is the All Blacks.
